Have a family member who claims they don’t believe in climate change? Ever feel like the people who have the power to create legislation to protect the Earth don’t take climate change seriously? You’re not alone. As time goes on, the Earth is getting more and more dangerous to live on. Polar bears are dying, sea levels are rising. It reached 70 degrees in November -- in Massachusetts. Does this seem normal?
At least we have the Paris Agreement, right? Wrong. As stated by the UNFCC, the Paris Agreement is “…a legally binding international treaty on climate change.” When nations sign this treaty, they agree to try and make legislative efforts to keep global warming below 1.5 degrees Celsius. However, Trump has decided, once again, that climate change is just as fake as his tan, as he has already pulled the United States back out of the Agreement. The Trump Administration left the treaty in 2017, but President Biden had reentered the United States in 2021.
Within his first few days back in office, Trump has already solidified his position as President of the Gilead. Soon, I’m sure the environment will be just as hazardous as it is in the Republic of Gilead too! Before you know it, I’m sure women will be wearing red dresses and be forced to erase their names. It’s a shame, really. I loved the name Lauren.
I figure I might as well speak out before Trump decides women are merely objects. If this piece wasn’t truly nauseating and doesn’t make you want to move legitimately anywhere else, look it up! Project 2025 is real. Regardless of Trump’s claims that his beliefs didn’t fully align with far-right conservatives, his executive orders do! You know what they say: the trust of the innocent is the liar’s most useful tool. I didn’t write this to worry you, I wrote it to open your eyes. I hope the right people read this and decide to use the one tool no one can take away from them: their voice.
